1705 Prime Wedding – Raleigh, North Carolina – Hoda & Abdul

Abdul is from Germany and Hoda is from North Carolina, and their mutual friends told them about each other, and fast forward a couple of months later, they were united in marriage! They were in a long distance relationship from the point of introduction, all the way until their wedding day, so finally tying the knot and getting to be together was all the more special for them.

Hoda says that she had just five weeks to plan the wedding. “After a long-distance relationship, my Husband from Germany and I living in North Carolina, we were under a strict timeline. Our wedding was thrown together in such a short time, all while my husband and I were both studying and working and maintaining our relationship! Our wedding was proof that even if you don’t have tons of time to plan, you can still have the wedding of your dreams and celebrate your love the way you always imagined.”

Initially, Hoda thought that their wedding was going to be in Germany, where Abdul lives, but at the last minute, they decided to do it in North Carolina. They say that it was amazing getting to celebrate with all of their friends and family. With only five weeks to plan the wedding and notify their guests, they thought many people wouldn’t be able to attend due to the short notice, but they were totally wrong! Everybody important to them was there, including guests from all over the world. Their wedding reception had 200 guests, all there to celebrate their love.

Abdul almost missed this own wedding! Flying to North Carolina from Berlin, Germany was no easy task! Just their luck, the employees out of the Berlin airport decided to go on strike the day of his flight (two days before their wedding). He managed to hop on to a different flight before his was cancelled, and made two unplanned pit-stops on the way to North Carolina. He arrived at 8:30pm the day before the wedding- and of course, his luggage got lost!! They had one hour to rush to the mall before stores closing and get him new shoes, clothes etc. Luckily, the wedding day was flawless, and his luggage arrived before taking off on their honeymoon the following day.
