Capen-Showalter House at the Albin Polasek Museum & Sculpture Gardens Wedding – Winter Park, Florida – Cassie & Ruben

Cassie and Ruben first saw each other at work when the two of them met one day while passing in the hall. They noticed one another, and after touching base, they quickly became friends. From a flourishing friendship to a blooming romance, the two realised how much they had in common and that the love of their life had been in front of them the whole time without even knowing it. Ruben asked Cassie out on an official first date, and the two soon realised they were meant to be.

Ruben knew that he couldn’t let Cassie get away and that indeed they were meant to be with each other, so he began planning a royal proposal for his princess. Taking Cassie to the historic town of St Augustine, Ruben arranged for a horse-drawn carriage to bring the two on a romantic ride across the cobblestone roads and waterfront bridge. As they approached the waterway, Ruben turned to Cassie and asked for her hand in marriage, which she, of course, said “yes” to!

Fairytale beginnings in the historic town turned to the next chapter of a fairytale wedding at a historic venue. The Capen House at the Albin Polasek Museum is considered to be the third oldest home in Winter Park. The Victorian Tudor was due to be demolished where it originally stood in 2013, but thankfully it was saved by the Winter Park community and relocated in two parts across Lake Osceola on a floating barge to the museum.

Cassie and Ruben’s day started off like a fairytale with the two arriving early to the Capen House for getting ready photographs before sharing their first look.

Set under an oak tree on that waterfront of Lake Osceola, guests sat patiently waiting for the Cassie to walk down the aisle. She looked like a fairytale princess in her wedding gown but had a secret surprise – the tulle underneath was dyed a Cinderella blue for the perfect pop of colour to compliment her wedding theme!

This happy couple shared their sacred vows and a first kiss, then headed off for family and wedding party portraits as guests went to the cocktail hour. Standing under the blossoming trees and walking along the maturely landscaped path of the Albin Polasek Museum, the two shared many more kisses and intimate moments during their time alone together.

Their reception took place outside underneath the whimsical clear tent by Orlando Wedding and Party Rentals. Dappled with market lighting, the tent was the perfect addition to keep the chilly breeze back while guests enjoyed their dinner. Dancing took place inside by Our DJ Rocks who had everyone on their feet the whole night!
