From the soon-to-be bride herself, Brandi on how this amazing couple met. “We met on a dating website called MeetMe. There was an instant connection. I liked that in her profile pictures, she was well dressed and in her car. To me, that meant she was responsible and able to provide for herself. We began messaging back and forth. Things just kind of took off from there. November 23, 2014, at approximately 4 am she asked if I would be her girlfriend. Over the next several months we moved in together, I knew she was the one. Torie, on the other hand, took forever. Then on our 1yr anniversary, Torie pulled out all the stops. She took me to lunch, then to the Augusta Canal. She gave me a padlock, engraved with our names and our saying. Then we went to find a place to put it. About half way across the canal locks she knelt down and said “what about right here? What about starting the next chapter right here? Will you marry me?” I was so surprised and happy all at once. I said yes of course! But I was scared she was going to drop the ring off of the bridge. I dragged her off the bridge and away from the rushing water so I could kiss her and take the ring.”
Joanna and Tom had their engagement session at Independence Grove in Libertyville, Illinois. It looks as though it was a gorgeous autumn day, and they tied the knot on September 30, 2017!
Thank you to The Still Life Photography for sharing this gorgeous engagement shoot with us.
Carmen and Chip had their beautiful engagement shoot in downtown Apex, North Carolina in the fall and we just love these images. The genuine happiness on their faces, and the love in every photo makes our hearts happy!

Lauren tells a funny little story about their engagement because this gorgeous same sex couple was actually engaged twice! She said, “I proposed to Brooke in Tennessee the day the Supreme Court passed the marriage equality act. I just said. “We should get married”. Brooke, on the other hand, wanted to me to have a special moment. She met with my parents to ask permission and proposed to me during a trivia night on Monday Night, July 6th, 2015. The MC/Host of the trivia was involved, and it was public and recorded. The MC asked the teams to send two people from each team up on stage. Then he asked us (in a bonus round)… what makes today significant? Brooke, shaking and nervous, raises her hand. Walks to the center of the stage and grabs the mic. She utters, in tears, “Today, is the day I ask my best friend to marry me”. This was mid game– with super strict cell phone rules due to possible cheating in the game–but they did give us 30 seconds to get it out– and so we posted on social media and returned to the game.”
There’s so much love pouring from these photos and we think it’s just a little more special that the photographer is actually Lauren’s sister, so she really captured true personalities in these images. Mary Fosky Photography says “Lauren is my little sister. I am so excited to call them my sisters (they just got married in Hawaii), follow their journey on IG @seventhgayadventurists or www.seventhgayadventurists.com“
Fate brought Leiyen and Allan together when they met unexpectedly on an airplane while sitting next to each other in 2010. They have such a strong bond and connection in the love that they share. They enjoy liming, listening to music and working out together.

Lindsey and Steven had their engagement photos taken on such a great day as they had clear skies, cool weather and an amazing sunset by the pier. Florida truly blessed them with this and to top it off, they looked stunning! This gorgeous couple will be tying the knot in March of 2018. Congrats on your engagement!

Kelli and Adam flew to Hawaii for a work conference from Washington, and as they are planning a Maui wedding for late next year, decided that they would scope out some locations and get their engagement photos done while they were there.
Blending a family is hard and that’s what these two hard working parents are doing; their engagement shoot was a nice getaway as between them they have 8 children! They had the most beautiful sunset Maui could have provided them, with black lava rocks to sit on!
For the final photos, the photographer told Adam that for this last shot, he was to whisper in Kelli’s ear why he chose her. Why he wants to spend the rest of his life with her. Whilst we have no idea what he told her, you can see the emotion in her face and tell that it was just perfect!

How they met, in Daniel’s words: “Cameron saw me at South Carolina Pride in 2014, and then he stalked and found me on Grindr of all places. Haha!!! He said “I found you!”, and I replied “Well now what are you going to do?” And he said, “Take you to dinner.” He took me to Cantina 76 where we sat and drank, ate and talked for over 3 hours…it sealed the deal. I hugged him goodbye, and our next date was 3 days later!”
Two years ago the Supreme Court of the United States of America ruled that the ‘Defense of Marriage Act’ was unconstitutional and gave all couples, no matter their gender, the right to marry throughout the country. Gay marriage was finally legal (as it always should have been in our opinion) and we want to celebrate this momentous occasion, because of the ruling just two short years ago, these two incredible grooms have the opportunity to marry and start their lives together with a marriage ceremony and celebration as thousands of couples before them have!
How Daniel proposed, in his own words: “I proposed to Cameron at Magic Kingdom via a caricature! Plans were for me to propose to him on our cruise we took via karaoke; They only had karaoke the first night of the cruise, and we were at dinner during the time so I missed my opportunity. When we arrived at Magic Kingdom after our cruise, I had his ring in my backpack and no clue how I was getting it on his finger!! After lunch we noticed a caricature artist and Cameron was excited as we had been wanting to do one! There were no appointments for a while so we walked away. I came back and booked the appointment and told them what I was planning: She was to draw me on one knee proposing. When the time arrived I was beyond nervous and fidgety, a crowd was gathering and Cameron asked the artist if crowds were common, she played along and said, “Oh yes, it happens all the time!” When she was finished and turns the picture around I was on one knee and asking the big question, while Cameron was confused as to his positioning in the picture…a few (what seemed like minutes) seconds later, he realized what was going on and with tears in his eyes he said, ‘YES!!!’”
Daniel or Cameron love openly and are un-afraid to be completely themselves with each other. We absolutely love when couples are like this! These two handsome men are planning for their big day next summer, and we’re ecstatic to share with you all of their beautiful portraits from their same sex engagement session in Columbia, South Carolina. We explored Main Street and the Nickelodeon theater to start, then wandered over to the University of South Carolina’s Horseshoe because Cameron is a proud USC graduate. We finished up their engagement portraits on the banks of the Congaree River with the Gervais Street Bridge in the background at sunset. Simply put, this couple is amazing, their love is beautiful, and I’m basically obsessed with these images, ha!

Chelsea and Steve are lovers of Disney and the 50s so the couple decided to dress in their formal best for an adorable engagement session. These two love birds first crossed paths through a mutual friend whilst they were on vacation. They connected on Facebook and started chatting on Messenger a few weeks later. From their love of Disney to different interests in life, the two realised that they had far more in common than expected and after chatting for a few months, they decided that they would meet up in person when Chelsea went to work at Disney during her college program. At the time Steve was going to school in Nebraska, which makes their meet up even more special since he flew to Florida to see her!
As Chelsea describes their first time hanging out in person and spending time at the happiest place in the world, “we had the best time together dressing up like characters from the movie Up The Movie for Halloween and staying up all night watching our favorite Disney movies.”
It was clear that something special was forming between the two and Steve made it official when Chelsea went back home to Louisiana and they decided to make their long distance relationship work. Moving back home for a few job prospects, Chelsea’s luck didn’t pan out, but her future looked up as she made the leap to move to Nebraska with Steve.
In true Disney fashion, the two shared their first handful of dates exploring the park as the magic of love brought them together. About a year into their relationship when sharing the words, “I love you” for the first time, they discussed the moment they both knew. Chelsea recalled that it was lying in the hammocks at Disney’s Polynesian Resort while the fireworks at nearby Disney’s Magic Kingdom lit up the sky. She felt at home in Steve’s arms and knew he was something special. Two years ago when on a trip to Mexico, Steve woke Chelsea for an early morning sunrise on the beach and on their way wandering to the ocean, they stumbled upon a set of hammocks. They lay together to watch the sunrise, and as it peeped out, Steve got down on one knee and asked for Chelsea’s hand in marriage. While Steve says the hammocks were a total coincidence, Chelsea still thinks it might have been planned.

Carolina and Edmond met while she was a waitress and was finishing up her nursing degree; Edmond had come into the little shop where she worked at the time and was besotted with her. Crossing paths, he stopped immediately in his tracks and asked if Carolina would go out to get some coffee with him. Carolina’s busy school schedule really didn’t allow much of a personal life, and she inadvertently played hard to get over the next few months as Edmond pursued her. During her last semester with school coming to a close, she finally accepted his date night proposal that started off with one cup of coffee leading to many, many more over their four hours of chatting.
In March 2015, Edmond popped the big question when Carolina came home from a long day, she was in their bedroom when he called her out to the living room. As she walked out, he took the ring out of his pocket and dropped down to one knee and told Carolina, “I love you so much and thank you for being here for me.” Through tears of joy, Carolina said, “yes!” and as she puts it, “ever since then we have been inseparable.”
