Kathryn and Steve knew each other throughout school in their small Connecticut town, but it wasn’t until Kathryn’s friend broke the girl code and told Steve that she had a crush on him, that they started dating. This cute couple has a mutual love for Harry Potter, they know just the right thing to say to make each other laugh, and their sweet home is filled with warmth and world’s cutest pets – we love this engagement shoot!
Kathryn was determined to have a spring outdoor photoshoot, but every time they tried it poured! Finally on the third reschedule, it still poured, but they managed to get beautiful images at a local farm who let them use their greenhouse! Thank you to Kelly F. Peterson Photography for sharing these images which just prove how stunning a shoot can be even if it’s raining outside!
Robert and Jordan met through a mutual friend in autumn 2010 while they were undergraduates in the neuroscience program at The University of Texas at Dallas. Nearly a semester passed by before they even spoke to each other, but soon they became go-to partners for studying, group projects, sitting together in class, and finding reasons to hang out outside of class.
In the autumn of 2012, Jordan got a new job in San Antonio. Robert kindly threw her a going-away party complete with a giant Hello Kitty bouncy castle and decided to profess his feelings for her days before she left Dallas for good. They dated long-distance for over three years while Jordan worked in San Antonio and Robert went to pharmacy school in Houston.
Then, in December 2015, they took a long weekend getaway to New Orleans full of sumptuous meals, meeting with friends, and live music. Jordan suspected a proposal, and Robert had planned one, but… her ring didn’t make it to him in time! Instead, after New Year’s 2016, Robert and Jordan had a quiet evening in, enjoying a homemade feast and watching a movie. Robert gave Jordan a few last Christmas gifts and proposed to her while sitting on the couch. The proposal may not have been dramatic or thrilling, but it was simple, honest, and meaningful, just like their love!
These two adorable bookworms wanted a fun day in the park to share their story. They are so excited to tie the knot next month at CW Hill Country Ranch in Boerne, Texas. Thank you to Angelic Edge Photography for these beautiful images!
After a decade together, Lehi & Bernice decided to make their union official with an engagement. These photos look simply magical with the breeze picking up the cotton and blowing it around them! The sunshine, the cotton, the love… perfection.
Thank you to DB Photography for sharing these images with us!
Amanda and Ryan’s love story began as all early 90’s teen dramas do – her brother had this really cute best friend growing up named Ryan, and after her brother moved away to California, Amanda and Ryan grew closer together – and so did their love.
Their engagement session looks lovely, the weather was fantastic, their outfits were adorable, and there was apparently even some big band music playing at the Miller Outdoor Theater close by creating a swanky mood!
Thank you to Stacy Anderson Photography for sharing this photo shoot with us.
Audriana and Jeff are lovers of the outdoors, the water, and of each other – Jeff proposed at their family cabin while heading out on a hike. They share a love for music as well and brought some instruments (including a guitar handed down to the bride-to-be from her grandfather) to jam on during their engagement session. We love this extra special personal touch added to this gorgeous couple’s engagement shoot.
Thank you to Theresa Wooner Photography for sharing these images with us!
Hong and Kyle had their engagement photos taken on a lovely Sunday evening at Tampa Riverwalk right before sunset. The overcast skies made such a beautiful light that gave the Tampa skyline in the background just the right, modern mood for this stylish and happy couple. We love the timing of this engagement session because it meant that they could have photos both during daylight and with the night sky within just a short amount of time. Hong and Kyle will tie the knot this coming November!

When you suspect your partner is going to propose, you’re always waiting and hoping, and every day is a little bit exciting because you’re nervous before it has even happened! Taryn admits that she thought a proposal would be coming and at every turn while they were hiking the trails of Raven Rock, she secretly thought that maybe it would happen there. But when they reached the main part of the walk, and she still hadn’t heard him say those magical words, she was convinced it wasn’t happening. On the way back to the car they stopped to take a break by a bench. Jordan started putting stuff away in their backpack, and suddenly he pulled out a little box; Taryn burst into tears and she says “It didn’t feel like real life!”
Taryn and Jordan have both called many places home over the years, but being in North Carolina at the same time allowed their paths to cross. It’s amazing how fate has a way of bringing two people together! Taryn and Jordan met at work where she said that she won him over officially with her bowling skills after a company bowling night.
These gorgeous images were captured by Candi Leonard – thank you so much for sharing them with us!
Kate said “Gavin and I met at work while we were working at Reynolds and Reynolds. I started in February 2013 and he started in April the same year. One of Gavin’s coworkers had become a friend of mine so I’d go talk to him off and on when I could and Gavin started kind of inserting himself into the conversations. A year or so later our friend was trying to get us together but neither of us were really in a place to be in a relationship since we had both just gotten out of bad relationships. In 2015 we both got invited to go float the river with friends and after that we started hanging out on and off with each other. Then January 1, 2016 Gavin asked me to be his girlfriend (after asking several times lol) and I finally said yes. We had a lot of ups and downs throughout or first year with family deaths and just a ton of stuff happening in both our families but we were always there for each other through it all. A year later January 18, 2017 he asked me to marry him and I said yes! I have no doubt this is the beginning of an amazing adventure together.”
We love the idea of this photo shoot having one serious posed part and one awesomely fun paint powder fight!
Angelic Edge Photography captured these fantastically fun photos and we wish we’d been there!
We love this little getting together story because it seems so relatable! Anna said, “We met at work at Northeast Methodist Hospital. I was working as a nurse and he was working as security. As usual, we always had the one aggressive patient, this time an elderly man who was known for becoming violent with nurses. I called a “code green” for security and back up since this particular time this patient had refused to get out of the bathroom, insisted I had broken into his home, and began yelling threats. In walks David who distracts me but helps me get this patient back in bed and calmer. Flirted a little here and there, but I refused to go out with him because we worked together (keep it professional, this is not Grey’s Anatomy). We distanced ourselves for a while, but then met at a party outside of work, and we both knew something was there. We started dating back in 2014 and soon realised how well our quirks worked together.”
“As far as our engagement, David planned to go to my favorite little Indian restaurant, but it was so busy. The noise level, the amount of people there that day and the overall ambiance were not amenable to any romantic gesture that night. He was antsy, but I thought it was just the crowd. When we got in the car we just started talking about marriage, and out of nowhere, “so, you wanna be my wife?”. A normal girl reaction is surprise, and possibly happy crying. I punched his arm, “For real? Seriously though? Now? Wait, what?”. Once I realised what happened I verbalised a yes forced through this smile I could not wipe off my face. Between Indian food leftovers and the steering wheel, we just sat in the car, just happy.”
“As far as the engagement session experience… Well I was so nervous. This is the first official, like, photographic documentation of our intent to marry, which will go out to family, friends and be part of our story forever. Add to that a couple of hyper puppies and it was the perfect formula for nerves. David was nervous too, even if he didn’t admit it. I could tell by how awkwardly he was smiling. The time for the shoot flew by, and I hardly remember any of it, but the result was more than gratifying. I feel proud to send these pictures out and mark the beginning of wedding adventures. Yay!”
Beautiful photography by Angelic Edge Photography.
“The House of FiFi DuBois is the coolest retro lounge in West Texas located in the historic downtown San Angelo. So cool, there is a VIP room that was created out of an vintage airstream. Live music and dancing every weekend. I went with my family to go dancing and Preston went with his friends. Preston asked me to dance….and I said yes. We instantly fell head over heels for each other. We’ve been together ever since. He proposed on my family’s ranch in Mason County the opening weekend of hunting season. He carved marry me in a tree near our blind but far enough away that I could only see it with binoculars. We sat in the blind and waited for the feeder to go off. As we were sitting, he pointed towards the hill and said he saw something over by a tree. I looked through the binoculars and without seeing a thing, I put the binoculars down. He pointed again for me to look closer saying that he was sure there was something over by a tree. So again, I picked up the binoculars and looked for what I was hoping was a big buck. What I saw, was even better. I could see the words “Marry Me?” carved into a tree. It took me a few seconds to gather my emotions and realize this moment was real. He saw me smile and when I turned to look at him, he was holding the ring. We both laughed and cried after he asked me to marry him in that old hunting blind. Best hunting trip ever.Just to add on about the tree….Preston cut down the tree and its current home is in our living room. We took the branches and we are making center pieces out of the wood from that tree for the reception….as a way to spread our love to every table at the wedding and have everyone be a part of it. The tree will even be placed at the ceremony too.”
