First look during a storm – Sanibel, Florida

Solomon and Jourdan celebrated their wedding in May 2015, but due to a hectic schedule and lack of time, “nothing went according to our game plan”, said Jourdan. They didn’t get to do a first look shoot, which in turn didn’t allow them to get beautiful and romantic couples portraits that they both so desperately were looking forward to.

When they reached out to Elina, of Elina Rose Studios, for some portraits, and after hearing their story, she suggested that they go the extra mile and recreate a first look and create new memories. They arranged for a cake from the local bakery, a beautiful bouquet and an intimate table setting. Solomon wore his favourite suit, and Jourdan opted for a different dress to the one she wore on her wedding day – we simply LOVE how this one flows with the wind!

They met at Blind Pass beach early in the morning to beat the Florida rain, especially as they were shooting at the time of the year when storms and hurricanes are common. Even though it didn’t rain, the dramatic skies and windy air were a direct cause of the storms over the Gulf of Mexico.
