James Island Presbyterian Wedding – James Island, South Carolina – Cara & Michael

Bowens Island Restaurant is at the end of a secluded road and offers an intimate waterfront setting overlooking the gently flowing King Flats Creek. For Cara and Michael, this couldn’t have been a more perfect spot for their reception as they wanted their friends and family to experience the very heart of the Lowcountry. Cara’s bridal ensemble was beautifully southern with a lovely gown with lace overlay and accents with beading at the midriff. Complimented by a lush bouquet of white roses, her bridal look exuded charm. Decked out in his black suit, Michael was as amazed as he saw Cara for their first look.

James Island Presbyterian Church was the perfect venue for their ceremony, with the light polished wood adding a feeling of warmth to the vows. The couple’s traditional church ceremony was intimate and beautiful. Afterwards, they shared a few moments with family and friends by a vintage trolley before heading to High Cotton for brunch.

Later on in the day, Bowens Island restaurant and its delicious Lowcountry fare was the perfect venue for a quiet reception. The setting sun glittered over the marsh as the guests dined and laughed over drinks. Cara and Michael took a few moments for newlywed portraits by the water, surrounded by live oaks. The sunset set the duo ablaze, and we love the golden hue surrounding them. Long after night had fallen, the duo stole away into the evening beneath a shower of sparklers. It was the perfect end to such a wonderful day.
