Styled Shoots

Mid Century Mixer in Historic Loft – Lake Charles, Louisiana

This is a styled shoot that brings together the beauty of mid-century decor and modern wedding day trends. In this shoot, the team paired mid-century details with strong floral accents and a Haley Paige dress that was absolutely stunning. No mid-century styled shoot would be complete though without any funky colours, so the calligrapher came in strong on the invitation suite. The liner of the envelope really gave the suite the spunk that it needed to fit the era that the team were all so inspired by!

Maggie, the photographer, says that she wanted to have extra set up’s as well that would give them an opportunity to showcase more on this mid-century inspiration. That is where the record player came into play. “We added in some local liquor to spice it up and that little corner ended up being one of my favorite spots of the shoot.”

“I wanted the ceremony location to make a statement. It started with the octagon shape and then grew from there. The shape was clearly a nod to the main inspiration of the shoot, the florals on the other hand have more of a modern feel to them. I don’t think any bride should skim on florals, they clearly make a statement but I like that our ceremony location shows you can make a statement with not a wide variety florals. I wanted it to make a statement but still not be overwhelming with a wide variety of colors, and I truly wanted to greenery to be the strongest point in the arch. The florist went above and beyond with that!”

“If I could go back and get married again, I would pull more of these fun mid-century details into my own day. From the funky invitation suite to those incredible mid-century plates! The shoot didn’t scream mid-century, but the details said more than enough! “
