Engagement Shoots

Whimsical Summer Engagement – Carmel, Indiana – Shelby & Jared

Shelby and Jared have been together for 7 years after meeting in their high school theatre class. After they realized that their crazy personalities matched, they just clicked and throughout those years, they graduated, moved from Wisconsin to Indianapolis, and stayed madly in love.

When it came to the proposal, Jared took Shelby to a cute little apple orchard called The Little Farmer in rural northern Wisconsin. “We went to that orchard several times every fall and it is Shelby’s favourite place from college. All of our friends from high school, work, and college came to help with the proposal! Shelby actually woke up that morning with a stomach bug but after a few hours, persevered and was able to make the trip. We were supposed to spend the day doing orchard activities with Shelby’s best friend but it was so hot.” The proposal took place right outside of the corn maze, which was supposed to take awhile to go through but somehow they found all of the right turns right away and made it through in a matter of minutes. At the end, some of their dearest friends were at the end holding a big banner and Shelby turned around to find Jared going to his knee. She didn’t even let him say a word before yelling out “yes!”

For their engagement, they focused on a summertime theme. Shelby wore red, white, and blue for their first outfit. For their second, Shelby wore an adorable mint lace dress and Jared rocked a button-up and navy slacks. All of these colors looked so beautiful with Shelby’s rose gold engagement ring. The ring is an Art Deco-inspired ring with beautiful details! It’s rose gold with a centre round cut stone and small stones down the front of the band. It’s extremely unique and very hard to describe but Shelby was instantly in love with it! It was all made possible because of an extremely generous gift from a total stranger! One night Jared was working at Applebee’s and a guest came in and gave him a large tip, specifically meant to buy the ring of Shelby’s dream! It was a story straight out of a romance novel!
