Styled Shoots

A Welsh Wonderland

“I fell in love with the Sugar Loaf Barn on my very first visit and I knew it would be the perfect setting for a wedding. Set in the heart of the beautiful welsh countryside in the Brecon Beacons, the Sugar Loaf Barn offers couples an alternative wedding venue which still encompasses beauty and romance with its surroundings and that’s exactly what I wanted to achieve with this styled shoot. My vision for the shoot was to create an alternative style wedding, I wanted to inspire couples that they can create a wedding that injects elements of their personality and personal style but can also still be classy, beautiful and romantic, without having a skull head in sight or a sea of bright pink flowers! When I first put together the inspiration board for this shoot I wanted to use a bolder colour palette, using bright orange and black but still creating a luxe, elegant and romantic style which was created with softer accent colours of green, pink and coral which was injected in the table decor and floral design. The table decor was provided by The Luxe Touch, we used mixed metals and glass with silver cutlery and hammered copper water tumblers and cut glass wine glasses. Vinyl was used instead of charger plates, perfect for those music loving couples and the light green taper candles added that bit of soft romance. With the floral design we wanted to create an effect of them growing up from the ground which beautifully framed the sweetheart table. We purposely kept the flowers on the table fairly simple adding little pops of colour. We also used the beautiful surroundings and views of the welsh countryside and were lucky enough to have some stunning shots in the bluebell field. We used a number of dresses throughout the shoot, all created by the very talented welsh designer E&W Couture. The dresses were a separate skirt and top, full of detail and texture, we also opted for a jumpsuit which gave us a slightly alternative look. We paired them with beautiful lace shoes and boots by House of Elliot, again having something slightly alternative to your usual silk bridal shoes. My favourite details of the shoot, has to be the spectacular mouthwatering grazing table, adding so much colour and yumminess and our star model, Milo the Boxer dog. Many couples want their family pet to be part of their special day so it was important to me that this was reflected in this shoot.”
