Beautiful wedding in Paris – Peggy & Richard

Three years ago, Peggy took herself to Paris. She had a flexible job that allowed for travel and she took advantage of it, splitting her days between working and wandering the beautiful Haussmannian streets. Peggy was on at the time, and while in Paris, she met a man: Richard. She also bought a bold red dress, cut above the knee and covered in delicate lace.

As Paris headed into fall this year, she found herself back in this city of love and lights, and not alone in this time. Richard was there too, and so was that red dress: three years later, they came to France to get married.

Peggy and Richard arrived at the Luxembourg gardens on a sunny afternoon with Richard’s twin brother and his wife: the only witnesses to their intimate wedding. All four of them wore matching boutonnieres with a single white rose, and Peggy carried a fall-themed bouquet with orange-tinged roses and dahlias, a nod to both the season and Richard’s favorite colour.

Michelle Wahila of Ruffled By Grace organised and officiated the marriage. Peggy and Richard’s personal ceremony was right in front of the Medici fountain—a romantic spot in the shade just off the beaten track of the iconic Luxembourg Gardens.

Once married, Richard opened a bottle of Pommery Champagne to celebrate! A classic French ending to this intimate Paris wedding, Pommery Champagne comes with a twist: Madame Pommery, who took over the winery upon her husband’s death, was one of the few women in the 1800s to manage her own winery and, what’s more, she revolutionised Champagne while doing it. She made brut dry Champagne, and made it so popular that, hundreds of years later, it’s still what we know and love to drink at special moments like these. Every glass of Pommery is a testament to the women who find (or make!) their own paths. Peggy, three years ago, found a path to Paris, and she and Richard made their way to each other. We can’t wait to see the path they create together.
