Black & White The Press Room Wedding – Brittany & Chase
Brittany and Chase met at a high school basketball game while they were actually in college. They never knew each other in high school, but somehow it still brought them together.
When it came to their proposal, Chase tricked Brittany into going to Downtown Knoxville with a couple friends of their. This was a pretty typical Friday night for them, so she wasn’t thinking anything about it when all of a sudden her friend whipped out her gigantic camera and said she needed some shots of downtown for work. Chase said, “Oh hey! Take our picture in front of the Tennessee Theater sign!”…. and Brittany couldn’t believe he ACTUALLY wanted to take a picture (what guy does?) so she was so excited! Then he got down on one knee, and needless to say she was even more excited!
The wedding colours centred around anything white, black, and anything with greenery! They knew that Knoxville had to be the location, because that’s where they both went to school together and spent most of their relationship. They went to the University of Tennessee together.
The most important thing to Brittany and Chase was to remember that all the little details “don’t really and truly matter at the end of the day. They are SO much fun to plan together, but at the end of the day, you’re getting to marry your best friend and that’s the most exciting part! As far as splurging goes- I was 100% certain on one thing in our wedding, and that was getting Amanda May Photos to be our photographer. I even changed our original wedding date because she was booked up! Those photos are all we will have to look back on that day, and I am so glad we chose a great photographer!”
Brittany’s favourite memory of the day was right after they officially got married and the party started, after all the hustle and bustle from the day, she and Chase went into her bridal suite and just sat together. Holding each other, smiling ear-to-ear, by themselves, listening to all of their loved ones outside the door eating and laughing ready to celebrate them. It was the most quiet part of that day, and the most emotional.
I think you can all agree that Brittany’s wedding flowers were nothing short of phenomenal. She did an asdooof all white and creamy flowers mixed with different greenery.
As a very special touch to their day, Brittany’s grandmother made their wedding cake. She used to own a bakery, and while she doesn’t do that anymore, it was so special to them!
For favours, Brittany’s mom and dad picked out tile, cut them into coaster sizes, glued foam on the bottom of them, stamped them with a personalised bible verse, and baked them so they were permanent. They were the star of the show in the category! “My mom is so crafty, and I couldn’t believe all the work and detail she put into them. I’m a lucky girl!”
“I was very lucky to have my dad’s craftsmanship and my mom’s crafting skills. While my mom handled the coasters, my dad made Chase and I a unique guestbook. It was a wood piece made from my grandfathers old barn I used to play in growing up, and that will always be very special to me!”
