Celebrations at the Bay Wedding – Brigette & Don

Brigette and Don met online on a dating website, and they talked for weeks before meeting up in person, and after meeting in person they were almost inseperable! They’re both into fitness and have a mutual love for muscles. They also share a mutual love for tiramisu! They both enjoy travelling and he proposed to her by drawing a heart in the sand in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands on Honeymoon Cove, where they privately chartered on a catamaran with a gorgeous view of the mountains! And Brigette got it all on video!

When it came to getting wedding planning, Brigette got all of her inspiration from Pinterest! What did we ever do without it!? “I didn’t go with a theme really, just wanted a timeless look with white being the overall flow and focus with rose gold accents and marble details.”

“I basically chose both looks, he really had no say haha! He trusts my judgment and knew I had a plan! My gown was from Kleinfeld in New York. It had diamonds and beading on the bodice with a v-neckline and a plunging back, from the waste it cascaded down and out like Cinderella. His tux was custom made from Men’s Warehouse, his Bow Tie was handmade from a boutique, and his jacket was two-toned. It was medium grey with a black silk lapel. Open chest with no vest, and a fitted white tuxedo shirt with hidden buttons.”

Brigette and Don got ready in separate hotel rooms near BWI. Each was surrounded by family and wedding party as the pre-wedding festivities began. Sequin gowns hung beside one another as curls were finished and laughter ensued. While it was raining outside, the bridal party was buzzing with excitement for the event ahead. The weather could not dull the day’s sparkle.

The rain poured down a little harder as they made the commute from BWI to Celebrations at the Bay. Everyone rushed in with their belongings to the parlours on site, where they were able to make last minute touch-ups. Brigette and Donald both finished getting ready there, as guests began to file in. The ceremony took place inside the event tent, surrounded by beautiful Gatsby inspired decor. Attendees filled gold Chiavari chairs adorned with greenery under white draped, chandelier filled ceilings. A muted purple uplighting set the tone for a romantic moment as Donald and Brigette became Mr. and Mrs.

“I decorated with greenery, I asked the florist to place eucalyptus on the aisle chairs and I used table numbers and favours to pull in the rose gold and marble elements. We’re also big on travelling, so I had purchased a globe for people to sign for us to have as a keepsake. However, even after printing a sign that said to sign the globe, not one person did!”

“My bridesmaid’s bouquets I made myself, but my bouquet was made by my florist. I went for a traditional tight rounded look for my girls, and a cascading effect in my bouquet. My bouquet incorporated the eucalyptus I had run throughout the reception.”

Everyone enjoyed cocktails and appetizers while the newlyweds stepped away for photos. It was windy, but the rain stopped. This gave them long enough to take some portraits outdoors before getting ready for reception introductions. The party kicked off immediately as bridal party attendants danced their way in. Dinner was served with a few delightful toasts from loved ones. Dancing ensued shortly after and went on throughout the night. The rain couldn’t damper this party’s vibe. It was a night of sparkle and shine!
