Emotional, Baby Blue Garden Wedding – Claibourne & Matt

Calibourne and Matt met through a mutual friend one night while they were out at a local brewery. He proposed to her at Busch Green Gardens in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, so it was very fitting that they also got married in a garden setting.

The decorations for this wedding were very simple. They did not want anything over the top and the ceremony took place in front of a historic house and gardens, so they had a lot of “natural” decorations. The theme behind the wedding was meant to be very relaxed and casual. The colours used were baby blue and grey, with a lot of greenery. The florals were very bohemian, with a lot of greens, baby blues, and light pinks.

The couple shared a tearful letter reading back-to-back before their ceremony. This wedding was a little bittersweet because the couple and the bride’s family had to adjust their expectations about how the day might have happened due to the loss of a family member. This Kalmia Gardens wedding day was joyful. It was sweet. It was perfect. There are quite a few emotional moments from the bride, the groom, and their family. Tears and hugs shared between those who have lost so much but still share even more. Sometimes, beauty is not just found in flawless wedding days where everything went perfectly. True beauty is found in real emotion, loss, grief, and the joy someone can feel even amongst all of that.

There were lots of little personal touches throughout this beautiful day. On the day of their wedding, Calibourne wore her late mother’s watch, family heirlooms in her ears and a necklace; her engagement ring and wedding band are both family heirlooms and family diamonds.

Matt wore a Brackish bowtie because Calibourne’s late mother had requested that detail.

An emotional dance with father and bride at reception was dedicated to her late mother.
