Amanda has been living with thyroid cancer for 12 years, and after six years with John, they finally decided to make it official, despite her ongoing complications. She focuses on enjoying her favorite people, along with simple pleasures and finding the humor and fun in all of life's twists and turns - a quality that has gotten her through some hard times. The happy couple picked the carnival for their engagement session to reflect this cheeky spirit between them, a spark that glows into the night (and we thought it would be fun for Amanda's son Larry, who joined in for a few portraits).
In Amanda's words about John: "He does the best impressions, makes the best scrambled eggs and is one of the only people in the world that understand me 100%. My best friend, my love and my support. He's hilarious, kind and handsome. Without him, I would be lonely and weird, but now we're weird together."
