The Farm at Brusharbor Wedding – Jackie & Jordan

Jackie and Jordan met in Florida while they were both in high school. After the two graduated from high school, they attended 3 different universities, lived in 4 different cities and 2 different states (and adopted 2 dogs along the way), the couple made long distance and several moves work for 10 years before they finally tied the knot in Autumn last year.

A few years ago the couple moved from their home state of Florida to North Carolina for Jordan’s job (an insurance adjuster). Jackie was lucky to have found a career that allowed her to live anywhere (she is the Client and Box Office Manager for a large ticket agency). After making North Carolina their home, they felt it was only fitting to have their wedding there.

Jordan proposed to Jackie in Maui, Hawaii on the beach at sunset. He asked someone walking by to take a photo of them and while they were taking photos, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Her first statement was “are you sure?” and then “of course, yes!” He had tried to make it as special as possible by getting dressed up and going for a walk on the beach. But Jackie admitted she was being a bit stubborn that day and refused to get dressed up. So they got engaged in their bathing suits!!

When it came time to planning, it was an easy choice to have their new home state of North Carolina as the location. They were both excited to have all of their Florida friends and family come up to see for themselves what they love so much about the region. The couple selected The Farm at Brusharbor and said as soon as they met the people who run the facility, they knew it was the place for them. They felt that the farm offered so much and everything was so naturally beautiful.
They picked an autumn date when the property would be full of colour and selected matching deep autumnal colours for their wedding party, decorations, and flowers. A few aspects of the couples day were DIY, including their ceremony arbor and seating cards.

Jordan and Jackie made the cornhole boards that the guests enjoyed during cocktail hour just outside the reception barn. Other aspects of the wedding decorations were provided by the farm, including the lanterns and signs. Overall their day went off without a hitch. The guests all raved about the amazing location and the entertainment. The dance floor stayed packed all the way till the end when a sparkler send off made for the perfect goodbye. Jackie and Jordan both said the highlight of their day was being surrounded by family and friends and all having a good time. It meant a lot to both of them to see so many people travel to be there to celebrate with them.
