French Blue Styled Shoot at The Commons 1854
From the planner: I have always loved the Parisian culture and have wanted to indulge in it ever since I was little. I have visited France before this year and have always dreamed of doing a shoot. I created a mood board with classic and pastel blue tones with the idea of the Parisian culture behind it. I wanted to create a vision of Paris from a tourist’s and local side of view. The European elegance, which is all very natural and whimsical at the same time, was what I wanted these images to portray. With the help of some incredible collaborators, we were able to create some magic!
Our goal was to create a soft, romantic look surrounded by subtle hues of blue and pastels. Natural lighting was important for us as shooting Film was a major goal. Luckily, the lighting cooperated and fluttered through the large windows of The Commons 1854 perfectly. For florals, we planned to use greenery and accents of blue, but also to incorporate some warmer pastels such as peach and yellow. For the invitation suite and signage, we wanted to add some French language to create an authentic-feel, (well as best as we could since none of us speak French J ). Even the menu included some French dishes such as Honey Lavender Chicken & Rose Water Gelato. For the attire, we were looking for a fitted, simple silhouette gown with a detachable skirt and a tailored navy blue suit. On the table-scape, soft stripes were a must! Each place setting was garnished with a menu and lavender sprig. The “guest” favors were “toss bags” of lavender from France that read “Vive les maries” or just married! The toasting glasses were filled with champagne and held three blueberries each to represent: the past, present and the future. On the bar we featured one of our favorite bottles of Blanc de Bleu, sparkling blueberry chardonnay – which we highly recommend trying to those we haven’t had before. Our shoot was such a great day filled with flowing creative juices, budding friendships and ladies just doing what we love!
