Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort Wedding – Kristen & George

Kristen and George met on January 2nd, 2016 at Sol Mexican Cocina in Newport Beach with a little help from modern technology. Everything seemed a little unreal at first: instant attraction, great communication, and a connection that seemed too good to be true… especially their love for chips and salsa. After two more dates, a hike, a kiss, and lots of conversation, they both knew that they had found someone special with only one issue… they lived on opposite sides of the country.

“Taking a leap of faith, we continued to communicate, mostly via memes and emojis, and the occasional FaceTime, exchanging stories of crazy coworkers, family matters, and travel aspirations.  We met again a month later and took a staycation at the Waterfront Beach Resort in Huntington Beach. It was this weekend, which happened to be Valentine’s, that we sampled much better chips and salsa from what would become one of our main staples… Freds Mexican Cafe on Main Street in Huntington Beach.”

“The next year flew by with lots of trips back and forth from Washington DC to Los Angeles, meeting each other’s families and friends, lots of phone conversations, and long distance virtual dates.  We had ups and downs, as anyone could imagine, 2500 miles between us made things difficult at times, but eventually, in April of 2017 George packed his car and drove back to California, with one thing on his mind; putting down roots with Kristen. Communication, trust, respect, and love made the relationship possible from a distance, only to find ourselves in a shorter long distance relationship across LA and Orange County.”

“As we settled down into a new routine, we found ourselves almost consistently talking about future endeavors together and the excitement of starting a family! On December 2nd, 2017, George proposed to Kristen on Naples Island in Long Beach, while strolling to check out the Christmas Lights. After many noises, and an “are you serious?” comment, she said “yes” and the rest is history.”

A wedding in Huntington Beach, California means lots of sun, palm trees, and blue skies. The venue was the elegant Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort, which was the perfect setting for Kristen and George’s classic wedding style. Beautiful greens and bold burgundy and touches of peach made for a beautiful colour combination which was seen in the florals, centrepieces, and bridesmaid dresses. The bride wore a beautiful lace dress with a long veil while the groom wore his Coast Guard best. The ceremony took place on a terrace overlooking the beach with tall palm trees as a backdrop. Friends and family rejoiced and became emotional as did this sweet couple when they read their handwritten vows to each other. The reception was held inside one of the resort’s ballrooms, and red uplights made for a pretty and vibrant background. A highlight of the night was when they put a cool spin on the cake cutting tradition by using George’s Coast Guard officer sword. This was a wedding that was as fun as it was romantic.
