Hobbit Hill Farm Styled Wedding Shoot
Hobbit Hill Farm boasts gorgeous views of the Shenandoah Valley, for three years now they’ve welcomed strangers, friends, and family to their pick your own organic blueberry farm, and after hosting three of their daughter’s weddings (and countless parties, get-togethers, and camping nights) at the most charming riverfront clearing, they’re opening up the space so that others can make just as many wonderful memories.
Shaded by thick, tall trees, the rush of water in the background, and nothing around you but natural beauty, it’s a perfect spot for an outdoor wedding. For this styled shoot, the team wanted to honour the beauty of the land, paying special attention to and drawing inspiration from the river and the blueberry farm.
For the table setting, they started with a colour palette of soft blues and blushes, weaving in deeper pops of colour into the florals. In keeping things local and natural, all of the florals were seasonal, and sourced from Thistle Haven Farm, a farm just down the road from Hobbit Hill. With the river in mind, the Azure Agate linen not only gave the head table visual interest and colour that popped against the natural greenery but has the curves and flow of water. Following suit and bringing the same natural flow with the curve of colour, the invitation suite compliments that same look.
The head table is adorned with classic place settings and rentals provided by FestiveFare Rentals. Against the colourful linen, the silver chargers and stark white tableware provide a crisp and clean look. But setting the tablescape apart from others are the individual bowls of freshly picked blueberries that guests would enjoy upon sitting down. A nod to both the blueberry farm, and to each guest as they sit to enjoy their special place at the table. Beautiful floral centrepieces and lit candles finish off the look on the table, adding a bit of romance to the setting.
“The most fun part of this shoot would have to be the models in the photos. Mallory and Tyler are not actually models, but a real-life engaged couple who agreed to spend the day with us. They were fun, sweet, kind, and oh so beautiful.”
To liven up the afternoon full of photos the styled shoot team celebrated with some champagne at the cake cutting table. The four-tier cake paid homage to the blueberry farm by incorporating them into the design, cascading the berries down the side of the cake, and finishing it off with a topper that mirrored the place cards on the head table. And after sipping champagne by the river, they ventured into the blueberry fields where vintage chairs created a picturesque look among the blossoming blueberry bushes.
