Industrial Tropical Styled Shoot

Stewart Barker Photography was inspired to produce these images as an exercise in exploring diversity within the wedding images and styling he was seeing within the UK wedding industry. The aim was to show my potential clients something they are unlikely to have seen before. Having spent many years living in a post-industrial city, he knew he wanted to incorporate an industrial element into the shoot (primarily the venue and use of copper). Stewart also wanted to incorporate foliage-based arrangements, as opposed to the more traditional floral arrangements. Tropical foliage-based designs have been popular in the commercial sector in 2018 – for stationery, greetings cards, interior design – and he hadn’t previously seen a UK wedding or styled shoot with tropical foliage. The end result was a light and airy set of images from a ‘blank-canvas’ industrial venue, with contrasting rich green tropical foliage.
