Lake house white barn wedding – Kaity & David
When asked how they met, Kaity said “for those of you who know my mom, or just those who are familiar with the power of a mother’s will- this should not surprise you. Determined to decrease the hundreds of miles between us, my mom started joking about setting me up with a boy in the (very) small town she had moved to. Not six months later she called me, going on and on about this adorable guy she’d seen in town that I just HAD to meet. Well…one blind date and a few years later and here we are, inviting you to our wedding. Thank the lord for the sweet man he saved for me, and a mother’s iron will for leading me to him a little bit quicker.”
When it came to the proposal, their wonderful photographer, turned lifelong friend Andi, was scheduled to take their Christmas photos. During the photos David got down on one knee. “It was already unforgettable but having the photos of it is so special to me.”
Kaity and David choice The Pointe as their wedding venue because of its natural, need for morning beauty. Partnered with the gorgeous flowers and colours the Carter Collective helped them with, it was perfect. They wanted simple and beautiful and it far transcended their hopes.
When I recieved the couples quesionnaire from Kaity and David, this bit really made me think! One of the questions is: What was the most important to the two of you while planning? Was there anything that you chose to splurge on or skip? And Kaity answered: “In retrospect I would’ve hired a planner. Life gets crazy, especially when you have to have your gallbladder removed 48 hours before your ceremony. Would’ve been nice to have someone who was on top of it all besides me and my bridal party scrambling like crazy. All the money we spent was well spent, in the end.” Can you imagine having to have emergency gallbladder surgery two days before you get married? And planning it yourself?!
Kaity and her dad were able to meet for the first time about a year before the wedding. Thirteen of her new family members traveled from Florida to be with them for their wedding. Having ALL of their loved ones made it so much more special. Kaity’s little sister and two daughters were the flower girls, and her step mom gave her a few things she wore on her wedding day. It was very sentimental and sweet. Kaity’s mom was the maid of honour and she says that having her there to experience it with her was just amazing.
