Lush Green Arizona Farm Wedding – Caitlin & Marco
Caitlin and Marco originally met in elementary school, but they reconnected during their sophomore year of high school at an event at their church. They were both so awkward but instantly they both had a crush on each other. They started dating shortly after and have been together ever since!
As a college graduation trip, a group of them and some of their friends all planned a trip to Yosemite National Park (this is what Caitlin thought at least). On their first day, they went to do some hiking and sightseeing, and around sunset time, they went into this meadow in front of Yosemite Falls. That’s when Marco got down on one knee and popped the question. Caitlin says that she sobbed like a baby, but after a couple minutes of him kneeling, she finally said YES. “It was a complete surprise and couldn’t have been more perfect!”
Their vision for their wedding day was to keep it timeless and simple. They wanted natural colours that would fit the look of the farm. They chose the venue because of all of its natural beauty. There were tall trees and blooming flowers everywhere you looked.
Caitlin says that her dress was “the first dress I tried on, and I fell in love! I felt like such a bride in it, and it added to the timeless look we were going for. The soft blue bridesmaid dresses added a lot to the colors of our wedding. Marco had always wanted to wear a blue suit, so it was nice that it contributed to the more soft and airy look we wanted.”
This happy couple had almost 250 guests so it was important that they picked a venue that could not only hold everyone, but also still feel personal. They wanted trees and elements of nature to be present in their wedding, so picking the right venue was one of their top priorities.
“Everything about the day surpassed any expectations that I had but I would say we had two favorite memories. The first being, the moment when I walked down the aisle and we saw each other for the first time. There aren’t really any words to describe that feeling, but I will never forget it. The second moment was what we did for our cake cutting. At the last second, Marco suggested we toss the cake into each other’s mouths, and without much thought, we went for it! We got so lucky and both caught the cake, and our wedding guests went crazy. I feel like that was the moment of my life that I peaked.”
For their favors, they did a scratch-off lottery ticket for each guest. It was a fun little idea because some of our guests actually won some money out of it!
