Luxurious island wedding on Crete Greece – Ilva & Christian
Ilva and Christian tied the knot during the Summer and they had a super special pre-wedding adventure shoot with their photographer! The first part took them on boat to the “secret” beach of Seitan Limania – this involved a wake-up call before sunrise for golden hour. They arrived bright eyed and smiling. Andreas Markakis Photography says “it was great boat trip thanks to Notos Mare Adventures.” The early morning suns reflection on the water was magical, serine and very calming.
An hour or two afterwards they embarked from Marathi beach to Chanias Venetian Harbor for the second part of the session. “I wanted images of the couple on the wild part of the island but also some pictures walking around in the harbor. And as if that wasn’t enough Notos Mare Adventures waited for us with another boat to take us for a swim in front of the port! The angle of the Venetian Harbor from a boat always adds visual wealth to a shoot.” Ilva and Christian changed into swimsuits and dove into the water. The perfect end to an adventurous photo shoot.
But that wasn’t the end of their day, Andreas Markakis Photography had one more trick up his sleeve – as the couple had opted to have a boudoir session, the luxurious Ambassadors Residence Hotel on the waterfront of the port offered them hospitality for this intimate photo shoot. Sexy, daring and in love. Ilva and Christian had the perfect combination and proven willingness to document this moment in their lives. This spirit carried on into the wedding day, set just a few days later where together with their family, friends and two dogs, Ilva and Christian partied till the early hours of the morning.
Crete was chosen to accommodate the wedding being easily accessible by most of their family members and friends. They wanted to get married in a neutral territory (neither Italy or Luxembourg) and they wanted a magical place, where the weather is good, people are friendly and where it is easy to reach for all the guests. Crete was an obvious decision. They had Cretan dancers, fireworks, little sparkles when they entered, great music, delicious food, amazing cocktails, and everything in a divine location such as Chania.
Ilva says that she wanted a classy dress, without any lace or straps, but still unique. “Therefore I chose the “pois” motive (with dots) as it was something I didn’t see in any collection. When I put it on, for the first time in my life, I actually felt like in a fairy tale.”
