Old Courthouse on the Square Wedding – Michael & Greg

Michael and Greg met 23 years ago on AOL!  When marriage became legal in Georgia same-sex couples, they decided that they would get married, but lots of other life issues got in the way until a party at their house where the question was popped.

Their wedding plan theme was “classy summer brunch”, so they purposefully chose bright summery colours. “We decided to wear matching suits and both like blue and orange, so the choice was easy. The wedding was secular in nature as neither of us are part of an organized religion/organization.”

The colours throughout the day were bright oranges, blues, greens and whites, with white tablecloths and royal/bright blue napkins. There were boutonnieres for the men and simple white flowers for the mothers. The flower girls had complimentary flowers to the table decor (bright summer flowers) and baby’s breath headbands to round out their white dresses. There were small votives of flowers on the tables and throughout the venue which made for a cheerful, yet intimate setting.“We created the gift card box, the table settings and place settings for the head table. Peach Keen Weddings and Decor did all the flowers, linens and other decorations (candles, etc.). We also got a lithograph of the courthouse with blue and orange pens and had people leave a ‘note’ for us instead of just a guest book. We also created a ‘guest libs’ – think ‘Mad Libs’ but wedding style with advice for the new grooms. Some of the responses we received were hysterical!”
