Romantic Hill Country Wedding – Nicole & Stephen
“Nicole and Stephen started out as friends who just ran in the same group of friends. They met a few months after Nicole had moved to Austin in 2013. They were both floating the Comal River with a large group of friends. She only met Stephen briefly but remembers him easily because he was “the loud one”. As time passed, they crossed paths at mutual friend gatherings. September 2015, they ran into each other at a friend’s birthday party at Ego’s Karaoke and they bonded over their mutual love of karaoke and planned to sing a duet together in the near future. They started talking more frequently and the acquaintances soon became friends. During that time, Nicole invited Stephen to join her for happy hour oysters and he happily accepted. They met up and talked for hours and closed the restaurant down. The next week Stephen asked Nicole out on a date and so they went to a restaurant that they both wanted to try. Nicole says that they “both love to try new types of food but when we went to order, I think Stephen was nervous and lost track of how much he ordered because our table was completely covered with food. We laugh about that to this day. We also went to karaoke afterwards and sang a duet.”
“Not once did our conversation stall and we laughed so much on our first date. At the end of our first date, we both agreed it was worth exploring. It was refreshing to be on the same page very early on. I felt safe to be honest and share how I was feeling.”
A little over a year later they were on a date, walking around the Capitol building when Stephen dropped to one knee and the rest is history!
