Sky Ranch Lodge Wedding – Alexia & RJ
"I met the love of my life at church, we caught each others’ eye almost instantly. We started getting to know each other, hanging out in friend groups, texting… A lot… and talking. Soon he asked me if I would like to grab dinner with him, I of course said yes, leading up to our dinner plans I was trying to convince myself that it wasn’t a date, so as not to get my hopes up…. It totally was. We had such a great time talking and learning more about each other, so much so that neither of us noticed that it took nearly an hour to get our food! At the end of our date he told me he liked me, to which I replied “it’s reciprocated” and we began our relationship. The next day he asked my parents for their blessing of our relationship, which of course they gave. Cut to nearly half a year later, and my family and I were planning a trip to California for the Fourth of July, my parents invited RJ and of course he said he would love to join. Well it was the Fourth of July and we were in a quaint little town called San Luis Obispo, we spend the whole day together wandering around the little town and planned to watch the fireworks on the beach. RJ kept telling me what a special day it was and how amazing it is that it’s finally here, and I was like “uh yeah… Fourth of July is pretty cool I guess” with no clue what was about to happen. We went to grab our spots on the beach for the firework show and he pulled off the highway to this amazing gazebo overlooking the ocean, my parents joined us a little later. At sunset he invited me into the gazebo, it was beautiful and scenic and I was so enamoured with the seals below I didn’t realize what was happening at first. He got down on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I was so shocked and filled with excitement that I almost forgot to say yes, a minute passed and I shouted, “Yes, of course”. We watched the fireworks together as a Newley engaged couple and Fourth of July has a whole new meaning to us. The next day we began wedding planning with excitement and anticipation of our wedding to come, of course, I pulled out all my Pinterest boards! We both wanted a Sedona wedding because it was a special place for us where we would go on day trips and go on hikes! We both wanted a wedding that reflected our styles and personalities, which is why we went with Blush, navy and light blue. It was a beautiful day filled with love, laughter, and joy, and I love my husband now more than ever."
