Southerlyn Farms Wedding – Rachel & Ryan

Rachel said that when Ryan proposed, “I was eating pizza in my pajamas and he went to take the dog for a walk (we lived in an apartment so we had to walk him every morning and before bed) and came back inside and had changed into dress clothes (I didn’t notice until he actually had the ring on my finger though because… stuffed crust pizza and Grey’s Anatomy.) He said, “Hey I got Tucky a new collar, why don’t you look at it?” And I hear something clinking around on the collar but Tucky was ready for his supper (he gets fed right after his walks) and wouldn’t come to me. So Ryan had to chase him down (I still didn’t notice he had changed LOL) and put him in my lap and all I saw was a ring on the collar and started crying. Ryan had to put Tucky down to make sure I was ok, and then took the ring off the collar along with a heart shaped dog tag that said “Will you marry me?” and asked if it was a yes and put the ring on my finger.”

Rachel and Ryan Southerlyn Farms wedding is simply beautiful, there was lovely lighting throughout the day due to slightly overcast weather, the gorgeous bride and groom were very much in love, the venue looks amazing, and you can feel the emotion through the photographs!

This wasn’t just another “rustic” barn wedding, it was simple, refreshing and pretty stunning. From the bride and her bridesmaids wearing Keds to the cute gypsophila halo hairpieces, simple and stunning was definitely this couples motto for their wedding day.

When Rachel was getting ready and putting her gown on, everyone was told to leave the room other than her mother. The bride wanted to make this particular part of the day extra special for just her mother and her – we think that’s a really sweet idea. Then she did a reveal to her bridesmaids, where there were happy tears and emotions from everyone. To top it all off, Rachel’s dog from her childhood, Tucky, was a big part

Not only did Rachel do a ‘first look’ with her bridesmaids, but she also did one with Ryan as well. As you know by now, we’re big fans of having a first look so there’s some alone time before all the emotions of the ceremony itself. This first look was filled with hugs, kisses, happiness, and their feelings for each other are so clear in these images.Throughout the whole day, between the bustling around and poses, he was constantly pulling Rachel aside for hugs and quiet kisses. He was so calm and easy to work with.

The photographer, Jessica Hunt, says that throughout the whole day, between the bustling around and poses, Ryan was constantly pulling Rachel aside for hugs and sneaky kisses. Super cute!

We love dogs, like oh my gosh aren’t they just adorable, we want to adopt so many and live on a farm in the middle of nowhere so they have room to run free… so we adore that Rachel’s dog from her childhood, Tucky, was a big part of her wedding day. Since Tucky is so important to her, he actually walked with the ring bearers in the ceremony!
