The Tabernacle Monore, Indiana Wedding – Kaycee & Jeremy

Kaycee and Jeremy have dated since middle school, (through Facebook actually). He was a grade older than she was and they were girlfriend and boyfriend about a month after meeting. They went through high school together and eventually ended up at the same college!

They had agreed to wait until after college to get married. However, the day of Kaycee’s family Christmas party her freshman year of college Jeremy went to put a down payment on a ring he had picked out. He said that he just couldn’t wait and bought the ring, asked her parents, and proposed all in the same day! There is a Santa that hands out gifts every year at their Christmas party and just when he was about to leave he said he had one more present. He said it was for Kaycee. After Santa gave her the present and she opened it, Jeremy dragged her to the centre of the living room and proposed. It was a complete surprise for everyone! Jeremy picked out the engagement ring without help from anyone, and he did a fabulous job!

As a high school senior Kaycee was determined to attend the same small private school Jeremy began attending when he graduated. She worked incredibly hard to reach this goal, working before school, playing on a varsity sport team every season, applying for scholarships all while maintaining good grades! Her energy and dedication are amazing as she continues her favourite sport, basketball at the college level, pursues a nurse major and works 2 jobs at times. Jeremy is such a kind gentleman and his love and caring for Kaycee are obvious to anyone who spends time with them. He also manages a full schedule pursuing a degree in exercise science, playing college football, working and looking towards grad school.

They were married at The Tabernacle in Monroe Indiana. The tall arching wood ceilings of this building make it one of a kind. What a stunning rustic interior this building displays. Since this happy couple were still in college they wanted to save as much money as possible so they decorated the Tabernacle themselves. They painted old syrup bottles from Kaycee’s job at the coffee shop and put them down the aisle and used a lot of rustic theme decorations. They wanted it to be simply beautiful. They decorated the ceremony place with decorations they found at garage sales or from different people. Kaycee’s cousin made program fans for their guests to have during the wedding ceremony, and Kaycee’s mother in law made the bouquet that she threw at the reception and many of the decorations for the ceremony.

Their wedding colours were light pink, white, grey, and forestry green. They wanted a rustic barn but chose the Tabernacle because it was very rustic looking and for half the price. They also had a lot of people and the Tabernacle could fit lots of people in it.

For the wedding attire, Kaycee chose light pink for her bridesmaids and she let them pick between two different styles – a halter top and a cross shoulder type dress. It worked out that half picked halter and half picked cross shoulder which looked nice in pictures. The flower girls all wore a lace pink dress. The groomsmen wore dark grey suits and Jeremy picked a shade lighter for himself.

When it came to wedding planning, Kaycee says that a lot of their budget was spent on the food. The mirage also included a decoration package for an extra fee which they opted for because “she does such a nice job and we didn’t know if we would have time to decorate both places.” They also splurged on the DJ because they love to dance and had been waiting for this night forever and wanted it to be a party!

Their wedding day fell on the hottest day of the year, with heat index warnings of over 100 degrees, high humidity, and no air conditioning! Kaycee and Jeremy had waited over 7 years for this day, and they weren’t going to let a little heat spoil it in the least, It’s something very special to meet “the one” while still in middle school. Growing together through the teen years of high school and into college, Kaycee and Jeremy have such a close bond. Their friends and family all talked about how they are the perfect fit for each other. Kaycee and Jeremy could not have handle the extreme heat with more grace/ Everyone acknowledged it was hot, there was no escaping it. There was cold water passed out to all the guests, instructions from the minister on what to do if anyone felt faint, and a beautiful wedding ceremony uniting one of the sweetest couples.

Kaycee says that she loved walking down the aisle. Her favourite memory from the day is walking down the aisle to 1000 years played by piano guys. “It felt like such as intimate moment looking up at Jeremy standing there waiting for me with teary eyes. The song really intensified the moment for me and I still play the song sometimes to go back to that moment.”

After the ceremony, everyone made the short drive to The Mirage Banquet Hall just 7 miles up the road in Decatur, IN. In decorating the reception tables, the owner of The Mirage did a wonderful continuing Kaycee’s pink and white colour scheme and complimenting the decorations made by her and her family. It was the perfect place to end the day of celebrating Kaycee and Jeremy with lots of fun and dancing! As Kaycee put it in the wedding day time line: DANCE! DANCE! DANCE!
