Vega Lodge Wedding – Talesha & Tyler

Talesha and Tyler met through mutual friends at a concert and kept coming back to each other because their timing wasn’t right for the first few years. They say nothing good comes easy! She says that she was eight months pregnant when he proposed “on the mountains glossing the hillside for elk, he got down on one knee and popped the question.”

Their wedding day was filled with lots of personal touches such as a photo collage remembering passed loved ones who couldn’t be there, and a handmade sign celebrating the “time to give mommy our last name.” There was so much emotion between the bride and groom and their daughters that just proved sometimes the best things are well worth the wait.

Talesha says that she has always dreamed of a Rustic themed wedding. “All of the props, decor and flowers belonged to my mom, my mother in law and myself. All the fine details fell into place. My mother in law had the antique doors, my mom had so many pretty yard ornaments already. The three of us came up with most everything on our own, with some help from Pinterest of course! Burlap and lace gave it a nice, yet elegant touch.”
“All the flowers were wild, planted, or in pots from our own homes. We had tin buckets, pots, and hanging plants that we had been growing all summer! Minus my bouquet! It was beautiful!”
Her favourite parts of the day were their vows, “being able to share special moments with my mom and mother in law. We got married at our family cabin and had our reception at Vega lodge. We can cherish our wedding venue even more since it was special to us, to begin with.”
When she was buying a dress she knew that she “wanted something vintage. So I had an ivory, slim fitted dress with a small train. I wore pearls and an ivory flower necklace that was handmade in Japan and is pretty close to 100 years old! The groom and groomsmen wore jeans, white button up shirts, boots and ties. Simple and comfortable.”
