Vibrant Fall Wedding – Ashley & Jonathan

Jon first noticed Ashley at a Greek Life community service event at Kean University in 2010. With a little help from Paul Medeiros, Jon approached Ashley that day. Jon and Ashley continued to interact through Facebook during the months following the event and particularly bonded over a game called “Fast Typer 2” (which Ashley was way better at, by the way). In the spring of 2011, they began going on dates and quickly realized they had so much fun together, no matter what they were doing. Ashley is thankful Jon stuck around after she shut her finger in the door of his Camaro on their second date, resulting in a trip to the hospital. Despite that minor setback, Jon and Ashley attended each other’s fraternity and sorority formals as dates that spring and continued to get to know each other. Jon made it “official” on June 22, 2011.

The years following were filled with adventures, hard work, laughter, new experiences, and copious amounts of pizza. They supported each other in earning college degrees, graduating from the academy, and establishing themselves in their careers. They travelled to many awesome places – near and far – and crossed items off their bucket list together. They moved out on their own for the first time and most importantly, they added a new member to the Kuligowski family – Maximus Kuligowski, their English Bulldog.

On April 6, 2017, while vacationing in one of their favourite spots, Myrtle Beach, Jon planned a day of relaxation for Ashley. The day began with a couple’s massage, a manicure, a pedicure, and then some relaxing on the beach. For dinner, he took her out for her absolute favourite meal (pizza) at the best pizza place in Myrtle Beach. After dinner, the plan was to go out for drinks somewhere, but Jon insisted on taking their leftover food to the room before going back out. Once they got to the room, Jon suggested they go for a walk on the beach and enjoy the nice weather. After walking for a few minutes along the ocean, Jon asked Ashley to turn around and to not look until he says he is ready. When Ashley turned around, she saw “Ashley, you are the love of my life. Will you marry me?” written in the sand. Once he realized Ashley internalized the message (due to her excessive happy tears), Jon got down on one knee and said “Ashley Lauren Miller, will you marry me?”.

After saying yes and lots of happy tears, Ashley looked up to realise people were taking pictures and videoing them. To her surprise, Jon hired photographers and a videographer to capture the amazing moment!

Their wedding day is full of warm, romantic autumnal vibes, and talk about that gorgeous red colour scheme, and their English Bulldog, Maximus, as a groomsman!! He wears that suit so well!
Ashley and Jonathan’s wedding ceremony was outdoors overlooking a mountain and they really were just trying to do things that made them happy, instead of the standard, cookie-cutter wedding.
