Advice, From Real Couples

Let It Go – Courtney & Christopher

“My best advice to any couple on their wedding day is to “let it go.”  My mom constantly said this phrase throughout the planning process.  It is so easy to stress out over every little thing during wedding planning, and sometimes you just need to let it go and move on.  On the day of our wedding, we forgot our engraved champagne flutes and cake cutting set.  When I sat at our sweetheart table and realized it, I reminded myself to just let it go.  This was the happiest day of my life, was I really going to stress out over a stemware and a knife? No. As far as marriage advice, Our first year of marriage was a crazy, busy year filled of parties, events, vacations, etc… but there were also some tough moments, like loss of loved ones and unexpected happenings.  This year I’ve learned to be grateful to have someone to share your life with.  It’s easy to get caught up in the everyday routine of life and forget how important your husband or wife is.  But you never know what kind of curve ball life is going to throw at you next, and knowing you have someone by your side who will love and support you no matter what is a true blessing.  So, I guess my advice is to never take your partner for granted and to remember how lucky you to have someone by your side for better or for worse.”
