Advice, From Real Couples

Wedding Advice – Stay true to yourselves – Michael & Kim

“Stay true to yourselves. In planning our wedding, we used social media a lot and numerous online blogs to get ideas and inspirations for our own wedding. This can be overwhelming as there’s a lot of information out there. Oftentimes, you get this pressure to copy what the other couples did and do certain things at your wedding because it “looked amazing” online. Sometimes, you may even feel like you gotta do better! Also, due to frustrations and time-constraints, you may feel like you gotta do what you gotta do, because you had enough. When you get to this stage, you need to stop and ask yourselves: “is this us?”. You still gotta do YOU! No matter how much you try to control things and pressure yourselves to do things in a certain way, there are things that we can’t control and all we have to do is to accept them and embrace them as they happen (and this applies to our lives in general). Love all the imperfections of your perfect day, as these are the things that you will remember the most. Our wedding may not be perfect for some people, but it is perfect for us. Regardless of whatever happened that day, at the end of the day, I say to my husband: “it’s me and you, just us two” – and that is what really matters!”
